Alice and Philip currently live in Snohomish, WA and purchased their home this month through Dorn Homes’ virtual home buying program. Surprisingly, they had no intention of moving and had not even considered Arizona as a location, but when they came down to visit friends at Wickenburg Ranch in January they were taken aback by all that life at the Ranch has to offer. Alice says, “we were so blown away by all of the amenities and activities, and all of the different ages of people. Honestly, we were blindsided by Wickenburg Ranch.”
Wickenburg Ranch will be a second home for now, as Alice is still teaching high school English remotely. Philip is retired and they can’t wait to get here to participate in all of the wonderful social events and get on the golf course.
Virtual Home Buying Q&A with Alice and Philip

So we asked Philip and Alice to share a little about their experience and offer some advice to others who may find themselves itching to start fresh in a new community. Q: Can you tell us a little about your experience with Dorn Homes’ virtual home buying program?
A: “James from Dorn was fantastic. They had virtual tours of lots available, then we would give him our top 3 choices. Then he would go and take additional photos of those lots or FaceTime with us from the lot. It really was a ton of information, so it was wonderful to have the experts to work with.
Danielle from Interior Logic was really great with being very savvy with Zoom and helping to guide us through the design portion. The design appointment was the hardest part, but we knew how much we loved Wickenburg Ranch.”
Q: For others like yourselves who may be considering a move or a lifestyle change at this unique time, what advice would you give them?
A: “It is really important to understand what your priorities in the home are. Is it the views? Or is it the countertops? It is also important to understand from the beginning what is included in your home, so that you can go from there. Also, understand how you process things. Do you need to print things out, or can you look at everything on the computer screen, etc.?
Take your time and stay calm. Realize you are working with the experts.”
